Amy grew up in rural Alabama but now resides in Austin with her husband Chad Whited, MD, their daughter Alla June and two rescue dogs.  Chad is an otolaryngologist with the Austin ENT Clinic and specializes in voice care.

 

Amy graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BA in Political Science and later from Auburn University Montgomery with a Masters of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management and Leadership.  During her career Amy has worked in politics across the country including for the North Carolina Medical Society where she lobbied on behalf of physicians and the patients they care for.  Since 2016 she has managed government relations and public affairs for UCB, Inc. a global biopharmaceutical manufacturer that specializes in therapies for neurological and immunological diseases.  Amy is also the founder of Pink Granite – an online community that supports the advancement of women working in Texas politics and policy.
