Enrichment Committees
There are many fun committees within the Alliance. Some members choose to participate in many while other members enjoy just one special committee. The committees are the best way to connect to others with similar interests. They are great for networking or seeing a chic flick with your pals.
Alliance Arts
Alliance Arts is a TCMA Enrichment Committee focused on cultural education in the greater Austin area. Guided tours have included, for example, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden, ACL Live, Pease Park, and the Texas State Cemetery. Events are generally paired with an onsite or nearby lunch. Book Review
Book Review meets about once a month to review current and classic literature. Reading the book is not a prerequisite and all are welcome to attend. Once or twice a year, Book Review has a meeting that includes spouses and concentrates on a book that would be of interest to them. These are evening meetings, so they are also ideal for those that cannot attend during the day when the regular meetings are held. The annual Holiday potluck luncheon is a not-to-be-missed event. The food is spectacular and members bring their favorite book recommendations for the year, it's always quite a list!

Chic Ladies
Chic Ladies is a group that enjoys lunches, cooking classes and other activities together about once a month. Signing up for the committee ensures that you receive the invitations to the gatherings. This is a great way for those new and not-so-new to the community to network and meet friends.

Mahjongg
Meet to play or learn Mahjongg, an ancient Chinese game. It's easy to learn and it is fun! New members are welcome and will be taught how to play.

Matinee Movies
Gather to take in new movies with Alliance friends. This committee meets at a theater about once a month to see a movie during the day, sometimes lunch is before or after the show, but is optional. As the Academy Awards approach, the committee attempts to see many of the nominated films in anticipation of the Awards ceremony. Because movies schedules have short lead times, please sign up to be informed of the next event.
