Cindy Blaydon - VP Enrichment
Cindy Blaydon was born in Aberdeen, Maryland and then moved about every three years with her mother and father, who was a US Army Cardiologist. She went to college at the University of California, Davis and studied Nutrition Science. She then followed her fathers footsteps and entered the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and went on to complete her Dietetic Internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. She later completed her Masters Degree in Health Care Administration. Cindy was awarded Fellow of the American Dietetic Association for her numerous contributions to her profession. Cindy practiced as a Registered Dietitian for 20 years in the US Army prior to retiring. Cindy was awarded Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During her second tour at Walter Reed, she met her future husband Sean Blaydon who was completing his Ophthalmology residency. Sean then followed her to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii where they got married. Cindy had her last duty assignment at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Sean completed his fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here in Austin. After Sean returned from his deployment in Baghdad, Iraq, Cindy and Sean moved to Austin, where Sean joined TOC Eye and Face (formerly Texas Oculoplastic Consultants).
Cindy also stays busy volunteering at her children's school and traveling with her family. Cindy and her husband Sean have two children. Cindy is currently serving on the Executive Board as VP of Enrichment. In the past, Cindy has enjoyed serving on various TCMA committees to include serving as Chair, Fund Drive Committee and on the Be Wise Immunize Committee, and the Membership Committee. Cindy says the Travis County Medical Alliance is a wonderful group and it has been an extremely rewarding experience.
