I grew up an Air Force Brat, moving around the country every couple of years until my family settled in Houston when I was in college. I graduated from The University of Texas where I met my husband and fell in love with the city of Austin. After spending medical school, residency and fellowship years in Houston, Galveston, Portland OR and Minneapolis MN, we returned with our growing family to Austin in 1996.
My husband Bob and I have four adult children and two adorable grandsons who live in Richmond VA, Washington DC and Chicago – so travel is definitely a huge part of our lives. I am a recovering tennis addict who loves the mountains and is looking forward to picking up pickleball.
I joined TCMA in 1996 and was an active MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) member and then VP of Membership before transitioning my volunteer focus toward my children’s school activities and other community organizations. With my recently emptied nest and years of medical advocacy experience with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, I am excited to reengage with the TCMA community.
