Lori Benold- VP of Membership

A native Texan, Lori Bodine Benold was raised around ranches – and ballet studios.   Her love of dance led her to become a professional ballet dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, and to eventually choreograph and teach.  She founded Ballet Arts of Austin in 2016.

Lori has also worked in marketing and sales for hospitals, television stations and print publications.  Part of her early television experience included copywriting and doing voice-overs, as well being an on-air talent for talk shows and commercials.

Since moving to Austin, Lori has thoroughly enjoyed the activities and opportunities offered through TCMA membership and is grateful for the camaraderie the organization has provided.  Relatively new to TCMA, she jumped right in and served as Chair of the 2019 Party With a Purpose and was honored to be recognized as Volunteer of the Year 2018-2019.  She is looking forward to serving as VP of Programs for the upcoming year.

Lori has always enjoyed walking on Gulf Coast beaches, and now she takes her frequent outdoor walks near creeks and lakes.  She loves travelling with her husband, Terrell Benold, M.D., and sampling new cuisine at Austin’s many wonderful restaurants.   She also looks forward to more literary discussions with the TCMA Book Review and spending time with her new granddaughter.
